The Great Pyrenees
The Great Pyrenees is one of the dogs included in the Working Group. They convey the distinct impression of elegance and unsurpassed beauty combined with great overall size and majesty. They have a white coat that may contain markings of badger, gray, or varying shades of tan.
They possess a keen intelligence and a kindly, while regal, expression. Exhibiting a unique elegance of bearing and movement, the Great Pyr’s soundness and coordination show unmistakably the purpose for which he has been bred, the strenuous work of guarding the flocks in all kinds of weather on the steep mountain slopes of the Pyrenees. The Pyr’s character and temperament are of utmost importance. In nature, the Great Pyrenees is confident, gentle, and affectionate.
While territorial and protective of his flock or family when necessary, his general demeanor is one of quiet composure, both patient and tolerant. Pyrs are fearless and loyal to his charges both human and animal. Our Pyrs tolerate the tugging and roughness of our Smooth Fox Terriers’ play without turning on them in anger.
The Great Pyrenees is the large breed dog for us because of their patience with the Smooth Fox Terriers and their guard work of our place, the goats, and ourselves. |

About Nubian Dairy Goats
The Nubian type goat is most likely the oldest species of goat known to mankind. The name "Nubian" originates from Nubia, a desert region in Northern Sudan. Although the French started working on the Nubian type animals before the English, credit must be given to the British for the development of the present day Nubian.
The first Nubians imported to England came from Paris, France in 1883. A pair named Arabi Pasha and Aida were said to be descended from stock sent several years previously from Nubia for the Society Nationale d'Acclimation.
Eastern goats of Nubian type reached England aboard ships, brought to produce milk on the voyage home. By 1896 the Anglo-Nubian was recognized as a breed with only four imported goats, all males, being recognized, two from India.
The Nubian is a relatively large, proud, and graceful diary goat, known for high quality, high butterfat milk production.
The head is the distinctive breed characteristic, with the facial profile between the eyes and the muzzle being strongly convex. The ears are long (extending at least one inch beyond the muzzle when held flat along the face), wide and pendulous. They lie close to the head at the temple and flare slightly out and well forward at the rounded tip, forming a “bell” shape. The ears are not thick, with the cartilage well defined. The hair is short, fine and glossy. Any color or colors, solid or patterned, is acceptable.
Our Nubians are very much pets and interact with us. They coming running when they see us and love to be petted. |

Umbrella Cockatoo
Cockatoos are docile and sweet tempered by nature, making them well suited to be companion birds. They are very rarely aggressive, and quickly form strong bonds with their caretakers. They do, however, demand attention and are very loud when making themselves known. Ben is loving and playful.
